French Regional Menus at Cafe du Parc
Café du Parc has embarked on a celebration of its traditional French bistro roots that will last all year long. The restaurant will offer new regional dishes at lunch and dinner that commemorate different regions of France and their influences on this rustic cooking style.
Café du Parc will commence the tasty festivities by feature rotating menu items from Alsace, the birthplace of Café du Parc's culinary consultant and celebrated French chef, Antoine Westermann. The Alsatian dishes will be available through the end of April, and will be executed by Chef de Cuisine Christophe Marque. These offerings will give diners the opportunity to sample several authentic bistro delicacies from this North- western region, including Spaetzels Auc Champignons de Bois, spaetzel pasta with white mushrooms and chicken jus; Choucroute Alsacienne, Alsatian sauerkraut with fresh pork belly, sausages and slow braised pork shanks; and Kouglof, sweet brioche with raisins, almonds, Kirsch pastry cream, and assorted seasonal berries topped with beer ice cream. Prices will range from $8.95 to $24.95.
Sommelier Caterina Abbruzzetti will also feature affordable and unique by-the-glass selections from wine producers located in each region, beginning with Vin d'Alsace's premiere wine makers, including Kuentz-Bas, Trimbach, Hugel, Marcel Deiss and Boxler. Guests may look forward to trying the Cuvée Les Amours 2004, a Pinot Blanc from Hugel that shows great minerality and intensity, as well as the Lucien Albrecht 2006 Riesling Réserve, a bone-dry, biodynamic wine with a beautiful aroma of spring flowers.
